About Us
Opticians Karec and Dee, along with Dr. Cozzi, operated Jerold Optical, formerly located on Huron Rd. in Cleveland, Ohio. The office, established in 1946, catered to local sports figures, recording artists, visiting celebrities, and of course, local folks like you and me. The office carried an eclectic variety of frames from around the world, with styles ranging from elegant to outlandish.
One day, while brainstorming over lunch, they decided that this concept would do great in an area that was rich in fashion history, a diverse population, and folks who want more than cookie-cutter type glasses. Thus, the idea of Kent Eyecare was born.
Kent Eyecare, carries an assortment of frames from around the globe, including hand painted frames from Cadore, Italy, titanium frames from Japan, and even eyewear manufactured in Nashville, Tn. From petite sizes to our extra large frames, there is not a face they can't fit.
We believe in supporting local economies, and so all of our lenses are manufactured right here in Ohio. (Middlefield, Ohio to be exact.). Skilled craftsmen work to make sure your prescription is just what the doctor order. We source local products whenever possible, and our opticians are all licensed, board certified, and members of the Opticians Association of Ohio.
Meet The Team
Karec is a Licensed Optician with over 10 years of experience in the optical industry. He is passionate about helping patients see and look their best by combining expert knowledge with personalized care. As the manager of Kent Eye Care, Karec is dedicated to providing the community with high-quality eyewear, exceptional service, and a welcoming experience for every patient.
Outside of work, Karec is a Cleveland sports fan and enjoys staying active. You can often find him playing volleyball at Kent Lanes on Fridays, playing golf, hitting the pickleball or basketball courts, and spending quality time with his wife, son and two Australian Shepherds.
Dee is a dedicated, hardworking Optician with close to 10 years of optical and eyecare experience. Her favorite part of the job is helping people find the perfect style and shape to fit their perfect style and shape.
She's a wife, mom, grandma and dog mom to Vickie Bean. Most of her days include the gym or some form of working out....Except Sundays. A life long Browns fan, Sundays are for food, family and football.
Nancy Cozzi, O.D. is a skilled optometrist specializing in integrative and holistic eye care, with expertise in contact lens fitting, ocular surface disease, as well as a special interest in ocular immunology and uveitis. Born in Rootstown, Ohio, she earned a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Kent State University in 2005 and graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2009. Dr. Cozzi blends traditional optometry with holistic practices while promoting overall wellness through nutrition and lifestyle guidance.
Based in Kent, Ohio, she is known for personalized contact lens solutions and comprehensive care. She is active in the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society (OWNS) and the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation (OIUF), staying current with advancements in optometry.Outside her practice, Dr. Cozzi is an avid athlete, passionate about soccer, open water swimming, and biking. In addition, she enjoys hosting gatherings with family and friends, fishing, and gardening, finding peace in nature. Her competitive spirit and discipline shine in both her professional and personal life. Dr. Cozzi balances her optometric career with an active lifestyle, inspiring health and excellence in her community.
